All Avatars. All Assets. All Engines.

Cross Game Play holds a granted U.S. patent on delivering a player's avatar and owned assets into multiple 3D platforms at runtime. We filed in May 2023. Since then, Netflix and Epic Games have publicly committed to the cross-game future this portfolio was built for, and AI is speeding it up.

FIG. 01 — The problem

Every skin you buy dies where you bought it.

Players lease, they don't own.

Outfits, items and progress are bound to one title on one engine. When a game sunsets or a player moves on, what they paid for stays behind.

Studios rebuild the same thing again and again.

Every engine and platform wants its own mesh, rig and texture pipeline. Content gets re-authored over and over without adding any new gameplay.

Platforms need control, not chaos.

Opening the gates is only valuable if each destination can still decide what comes in, in what form, and under whose rules.

Our vision

A persistent digital identity — your avatar, your items, your achievements — that travels with you across games, engines and worlds, while every destination stays in charge of its own gate.

FIG. 02 — The granted system

How an avatar crosses between engines.

  1. 01
    Store

A content database holds the user's 3D avatar model and the assets they own.

  2. 02
    Request

An SDK sits inside each platform's own customisation module and requests the avatar through an API.

  3. 03
    Deliver

The content delivery module fetches the model and assets and delivers them to the SDK at runtime.

  4. 04
    Customise natively

The player edits the avatar inside each game, using that engine's own tools.

  5. 05
    Return

New assets picked up in one game flow back to storage, so the identity keeps growing wherever the player goes.

FIG. 03 — The trust stack

Five questions every cross-game transfer has to answer.

Moving a file is easy. Moving it in a way a destination will trust is the hard part. The granted patent is the foundation. The family of applications built on top of it covers each question a destination needs answered before it lets something in.

    FIG. 05 — The market

We filed first. The market followed.

    2025 global games revenue$201.6BNewzoo, forecast $234.4B by 2028 [1]

Players spent more on games in 2025 than ever before, and a large share of it goes on in-game items. Today almost none of those items can leave the game they were bought in. Whoever makes them portable, on terms destinations accept, sits right in the path of that spending.

18 claims issued, with continuation and CIP applications already filed.

    3. Netflix acquires Ready Player Me

To build avatars that let subscribers “carry their personas and fandom across different games.” Ready Player Me had raised $72M in venture funding. [2]

    4. Epic outlines Unreal Engine 6

Fortnite cosmetics are named as the first proof point for using outfits across games, alongside a “shared economy for smart assets” and LLM access to the editor through MCP. [3][4]

Third parties are named only to show public market direction. Nothing here alleges infringement or implies any affiliation.

    FIG. 06 — The thesis

In an AI world, IP is the last moat.

AI has made writing code, generating art and shipping features cheap. Anything that can be built can now be rebuilt, faster and by anyone. What can't be rebuilt is a legal right.

With the best AI models, a competitor can rebuild software fast. They can't give themselves a May 2023 priority date.

AI can write the code. It can't backdate a filing.

    What remains

    The right to exclude.

A U.S. patent grants “the right to exclude others from making, using, offering for sale, or selling the invention throughout the United States.”

Intangible assets now make up over 90% of the market value of the S&P 500. [5]

AI is pushing that trend further. When execution is abundant, value moves to whatever can't be copied. Every studio, engine and platform that builds cross-game portability with AI tools is building in the space this portfolio maps onto. That doesn't shrink the opportunity. It multiplies the number of conversations.

FIG. 07 — AI and the portfolio

AI multiplies what moves between games. It all still needs a way in.

AI makes assets cheaper to convert and create. A model can rebuild an outfit for a new engine or generate a whole world. The result is more assets moving between games, not fewer. Each one still has to be stored against a player's identity, delivered into each engine at runtime, and opened in that game's own customisation tools. That is the architecture claimed in our granted patent. AI doesn't replace that step; it sends more traffic through it. On top of that foundation, our filed applications cover the questions AI makes urgent: where an asset came from, who owns it, and whether a destination lets it in.

Illustrative · An AI-rebuilt asset arrives at a destination

    01 · Source

A licensed outfit, owned by a player in one title.

    02 · Rebuilt

A model regenerates it for a new engine. The file is new, so file-based protection sees nothing.

    ACCEPT

This is the problem behind our filed application on provenance for AI-reconstructed assets. A rebuild shouldn't erase the chain of custody, and a regenerated copy shouldn't get in just because the file is new.

Where AI changes the game, and the portfolio coverage that maps to it

    1. 00

      AI converts assets faster

Cheaper conversion means more assets moving between games. Each one still has to be delivered into each engine at runtime and saved back to the player's identity.
